The motif is jacquard: bone-white and coloured yarns carried through the black wool row by row on an industrial flat-bed machine. There is no ink, no transfer and no embroidery on top. Pattern and garment are the same object, so nothing can crack, peel or fade.
Fabric and fit
Heavyweight knit in 50% wool and 50% acrylic: warm and substantial like pure wool, harder-wearing and easier to live with. A finished sweater weighs 450 to 650 g depending on size. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 2XL. Between sizes, take the bigger one.

A colony of bone-white bats dives down this crew-neck: scattered and sparse across the shoulders, crowding into a swarm at the hem. Read from a distance it is texture, almost a pattern. Up close it resolves into individual animals, each one charted separately so no two sit at the same angle.
Density was the whole design problem. Evenly spaced bats look like wallpaper, so the chart gradates them: light at the top, heavy at the bottom, with the direction of flight rotating as they descend. Every bat is knitted into the jacquard in bone-white yarn carried through black wool. Nothing is appliqued and nothing is printed.
Heavyweight relaxed unisex crew-neck, ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, true to size from S to 2XL. Because the motif is spread over the whole body rather than parked on the chest, this one works particularly well a size up, where the swarm gets more room to move. The model is 175 cm and wears M.
